This is a Legal Research Librarian/Research & Digital Information Analyst position responsible for providing reference and research to attorneys, paralegals, associates, and team members.
Most Important Responsibilities:
Perform in-depth legal, corporate, financial, and/or general research for lawyers, staff, and clients by using the appropriate mix of information resources.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of scope, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of information resources, and utilize most relevant information and tools.
- Provide reports of research summaries when needed using explanations and data/information.
- Responsible for training other staff in the use of information resources; developing, preparing and, and conducting presentations/orientations giving information and training on relevant resources.
- Assist in preparing and updating guides, newsletters, intranet pages, and assist in the use of library services and information resources.
- Keep up with new developments, technologies, innovations, and products in legal and business research.
- Evaluate, review, and update practice places, sites, and internal library sites.
- Serve as a liaison between research initiatives and designated practice groups and teams and participate in group meetings and providing insightful feedback on information and training requirements.
- Oversee the library holdings of designated offices, managing the collection, while also making informed decisions regarding resource renewal or discontinuation.
- Produce new publications, manage invoices, and contribute to the budgetary planning efforts of the library.
- Administrate and upkeep electronic resources within assigned offices or practice groups, coordinating renewal processes and optimizing resources usages.
What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization:
- Master's degree in library or information science with an institution accredited by the American Library Association.
- Focus on law librarianship or legal research, or institution accredited by eh American Bar Association, coupled with relevant experience.
- 1+ year of experience in a law library setting; preferably with prior experience in a law firm library environment.
- Exceptional customer service aptitude.
- Strong written, verbal, and editing communication capabilities.
- Familiarity with a range of legal and business information resources, such as Westlaw Edge, Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, S&P CapitalQ, etc.
- Experience developing and delivering comprehensive training programs tailored to attorneys and team members.
- Ability to provide support to attorneys and team members across various locations, employing diverse communication methods.
- Knowledge of copyright regulations as they pertain to library operations.
- Experience utilizing the EOS integrated library systems.
- Proficiency in data collection, organization, analysis, and the visual representation of information.
