Law & Policy Program Director - Puget SoundkeeperMarch 3, 2025Puget Soundkeeper is looking for a full-time Senior Attorney to be its Director of Law & Policy. We seek a Sound that supports the lifeways and traditional cultural practices of indigenous peoples; provides all communities with a clean, healthy place to live and work; and once again is home to an abundance of salmon and orca.We monitor Puget Sound water quality, help set strong policies and regulations that protect our waterways and our health, enforce environmental regulations, engage citizens and businesses in waterway cleanups and recovery projects, educate and involve the public in local water pollution issues, and partner with local and regional groups to advance solutions that protect Puget Sound.POSITION SUMMARYPuget Soundkeeper is hiring a full-time Senior Attorney to be its Director of Law & Policy. They seek a passionate, community-focused legal professional with a commitment to clean water and healthy communities who will help drive the progress needed to protect and enhance the Sound for the people, tribes, and ecosystems that rely on clean water. Through environmental enforcement, administrative and agency advocacy, strategic litigation, and community lawyering, the Director will lead the organization's robust, Sound-wide legal docket, manage our legislative and policy team working in Olympia, and collaborate with stakeholder groups across the region and nation. The Director reports to the Executive Director and oversees the Staff Attorney, legal or public policy interns, lobbying contractor and partnerships (including lobbying efforts), and cases, legal budgets, and outside counsel.Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a priority deadline of March 20; the position will remain open until filled. #J-18808-Ljbffr
