The Role:

As the Lead Computer Vision Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and evaluation of our client's perception system, delivering comprehensive environmental awareness for the home. This position demands a balance of classical and machine learning approaches to achieve precise, reliable performance in varied conditions. You'll work in close partnership with hardware teams to set sensing requirements and optimize components that align with the system's objectives.

This is a full-time, on-site role in San Francisco with visa sponsorship and relocation available.

What You'll Do:

🎯 Optimize Sensor Fusion to integrate multi-sensory data, ensuring robustness in occluded, low-light, and other challenging environments.

🧠 Lead ML Dataset Management by collecting, labeling, and managing training data, while refining models for 3D detection, tracking, and scene understanding.

🔍 Performance Testing & Analysis both in simulations and real-world deployments, identifying and resolving system limitations and edge cases.

📈 Collaborate on Hardware Requirements, working with hardware engineers to set up and evaluate the ideal components for perception.

🔧 Develop ML Infrastructure including distributed training, data management, and the evaluation of production systems.

What We're Looking For:

5+ years' experience in machine learning for hardware systems, ideally in safety-critical fields like aerospace, robotics, or autonomous vehicles. A strong foundation in ML models for object detection, scene understanding, and system performance evaluation. Experience in cross-functional collaboration, especially with hardware and data teams. Passion for developing reliable perception systems with minimal error margins.
