Monitors systems security, network security, INFOSEC training standards, communications security (COMSEC), communications risk analysis, security profiles, network audits, software product evaluations, secure network servers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virus protection, DNS security, backbone security, modem dial up standards, information assurance vulnerability assessments, and operating systems. Develops guidance and procedures for the Information Assurance Program IAW AR 25-2. Manages the implementation, publication, and dissemination of information processing technical and procedural standards to the user community. Works with Information Assurance Security Officers (IASOs) to evaluate the impact of proposed standards and procedures on the accomplishment of agency goals and objectives. Provides for training and implementation assistance; reviews and prepares recommendations concerning waivers of mandatory standards; ensures Information Assurance training is vigorously integrated throughout the installation. Coordinates Information Systems Security Program performance and operational employment with other organizations and installations as needed.Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship- Obtain & maintain Security clearance- This may be a designated Drug Testing Position (if applicable)- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:- Knowledge of agency and local computer systems security requirements in sufficient depth to advise on modifying and adapting existing security approaches to meet special requirements.- Knowledge of current automated information systems security developments as they relate to hardware, systems software, telecommunications, and systems design and development techniques to provide advice and guidance on issues such as alternative security packages, their acquisition, and use.- Knowledge of DOD and agency policies, procedures, regulations, directives and requirements related to information security. This knowledge is used to assist in development of guidance and procedures for the installation, to identify vulnerabilities, and to assess potential security violations or problems through analysis of audit trails and log files.- Knowledge of agency information processing standards, policies, and procedures to analyze and advise managers on systems security matters and evaluate the need for changes in existing policies and procedures.- Knowledge of equipment characteristics, computer techniques, requirements, methods and procedures to include familiarity with approaches used by organizations in other agencies and/or the private sector in order to evaluate alternatives and provide advice and assistance to managers.- Knowledge of agency and local computer systems security requirements in sufficient depth to advise on and implement environmental control measures, risk assessment and quantitative justification of physical security controls, backup and recovery for the data processing installation and telecommunications systems, and contingency planning for events ranging from fault disruption to fire, water, smoke and electrical problems to disaster recovery.- Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to COMSEC equipment.- Knowledge of the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Configuration Management.- Ability to communicate effectively either orally or in writing.Click the apply button to complete an application and upload resume (PDF Form) and/or additional documents (Transcripts, certifications, Vet Docs (DD214), SF-50).To receive additional information about current and future job openings with AFCS via email notification, please register at www.Afciviliancareers.com and sign up to “Get Career Updates.”Equal Opportunity Employer.
