Job Description :
This position fills a project leadership role in the Hardware & Software design/ debug of industrial controls for various custom automated assembly, test and material handling machines.Position requires the ability to design and program custom automated equipment. Capable of being the controls lead on large multiple module systems. Provide technical support to external and internal customers. Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, PLC and servo controls. To provide leadership and technical direction to all Controls Engineering team members. Responsible to assist with the project's success. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed. To develop and program automated equipment according to a customer and internal specification.Lead the development of Controls architecture for large multiple module systems.Program control systems for servo, robotic and air operated stations, along with test and electrical devices.Ensure the electrical design is functional, robust, and cost effective.Innovate and use good judgment to incorporate Calvary Robotics standards and regulatory requirements.Research and specify appropriate purchased and preferred components.Create electrical wiring schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, Bill of Materials, organize release packages, and update schematics.Maintain project scope and identify scope creep.Participate in internal and customer design reviews, installations, and service calls when needed.Guide Electricians in wiring and codes. Support software validation requirements.Work with suppliers to find/develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.Work under the confines of the project schedule and budget.Problem-solve with Mechanical Builders, debug software issues, and update all appropriate documentation.Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.Work closely with Mechanical Engineering and Build and exhibit objectivity and openness to others views.Follow all policy and procedures to maintain ISO9000 Certification requirements.Prioritizes, plans, and organizes work and workspace.Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, and/or other degrees / demonstrated industry experience.Experience selecting and designing hardware to control and monitor industrial machinery and/or industrial processes.Allen-Bradley Studio/RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk Transaction ManagerSiemens Step7, TIA Portal, WinCC Flex; Telemecanique Unity, Concept, PL7Epson, Fanuc, ABB, Denso, Staubli, Kuka, Mitsubishi, Intelligent Actuator, or other robotic control and programming platformsCognex Insight, VisionPro, or other industrial vision programmingVery familiar with relevant codes such as NFPA 79, NFPA 70, CE.
