Lead Cooks are responsible for providing the highest quality of food to the guests.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
  • Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions.
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
  • Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases.
  • Practices safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage.
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year line cook experience
Required Competencies:
  • Must be punctual, dependable and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Physical Demands:
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours), with some walking.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50lbs.
  • Ability to speak, hear and see close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, chopping, pulling, and lifting motions associated with preparing and cooking products using knives, utensils, and cookware.
  • Continue use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
