Lead Custodian - PALMETTO STATE ARMORY : Job Details

JOB PURPOSEThis position is responsible for staffing suggestions, scheduling and leading a small team to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recommend and maintain cost effective products used to clean the facility.
• Ensure we have coverage for all work schedules as needed or as communicated by upper management.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Gather and crush empty boxes.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Be accountable and responsible for the proper use and care of company equipment.
• Maintains physical condition of facility by keeping aisle clear of clutter and debris and adhering to storage design principles.
• Possible use of company equipment (forklift, scissor lift, etc.) to safely complete tasks
• All other duties, as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of pallet jack and/or forklift certified a plus
• Ability to operate Zamboni

WORKING CONDITIONSThe job requires a person to work in conditions that include extreme heat and cold; a high noise level, which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs; heights; and dealing with chemicals. Hours may vary based on production and business needs, including working regular shifts as outlined and/or occasional weekends, or overtime, if neededPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTeam members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as operating machinery. Team members will be lifting/maneuvering objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly. Cleaning materials and chemicals used regularly. DIRECT REPORTSNot Applicable.Must be at least 18 years of age.
