Our client is multi-discipline employee-owned engineering firm in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina is looking for an Electrical Engineer Team Lead.

  • Design complex electrical building systems and leadership and mentorship to our talented team of electrical engineers.
  • Sustainable and intelligent approach to design as we develop award-winning solutions for Fortune 500 companies, top healthcare systems, and leading universities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company with the design of complex electrical systems.
  • Represent the companys electrical expertise in a client-facing role, with the ability to answer client questions and solve problems in real time.
  • Lead a team of electrical engineers, with the ability to mentor staff in both technical engineering skills and soft skills such as client and team communication, project management, and leadership.
  • Oversee the preparation of 2- and 3-dimensional construction documents.
  • Oversee the preparation of documents, calculations, and energy modeling studies for the LEED certification process.
  • Lead design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
  • Plan project production process.
  • Lead the performance of contract administration duties including site visits, submittal review and contractor assistance.
  • Perform project management of a multi-discipline team of engineers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrates a very strong understanding of electrical system concepts and applications.
  • Ability to design and manage large complex electrical building systems for building types including healthcare, higher education, science and technology, workplace, and many others.
  • Ability to interface effectively with clients to analyze, address, and resolve complex design challenges.
  • Possesses a desire to lead, develop, motivate and grow the firms electrical engineering team.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, has good follow-through, and practices self-implemented quality control measures.
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the electrical consulting business.
  • Experience designing large electrical building systems
