Lead Food Services Worker at Green Tree Schools 1196 E Washington Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19138What we offer:

Job Responsibilities:
- Supports the food services team in maintaining the kitchen, serving, and dining areas in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition following approved housekeeping and safety practices.
- Participates in the cleaning schedule for production areas, as assigned, and monitors team adherence to the schedule in the absence of the Food Services Manager.
- Demonstrates established standards, methods, and procedures to employees for food safety at GTSS school, in accordance with USDA, HACCP and State regulations, Health Department standards and Food Services Department standards and procedures.
- Maintains clean, well-organized storage areas, including freezers, refrigerators and dry storage areas
- Supports Food Service Manager with inspection of deliveries upon receipt to assess quality and confirm quantities align with invoices for goods.
- Models the preparation of standardized menus for meal service.
- Monitors compliance with approved food preparation and service procedures, including the use of standardized recipes, portion control, presentation, compliance with HACCP, in the absence of the Food Services Manager.
- Participates in taste testing & evaluation of new products, recipes, and methods of preparation. Supports student taste testing events, under the direction of the Food Services Manager.
- Participates in interviews & trainings, as requested, of new employees.
- In the absence of the Food Services Manager, supervises Food Service workers in all operational functions including, but not limited to meal preparation, food production, distribution, equipment maintenance, and food safety.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Safety Certification (ServSafe)
- A genuine passion for working with children, along with patience and compassion.
Preferred/Nice to have:
- Experience working with children with special needs or autism through volunteer work, employment, or other relevant experiences.
