The Department's aim is to create a more cohesive, equitable, and effective early childhood system in New Mexico. That means coordinating a continuum of programs from prenatal to five, and ensuring that families in every corner of the state can access the services they need.Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist?The Lead Infant/Toddler Program Monitor position exists to lead and manage the Infant/Toddler Contracted Slots Program by developing and updating policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, monitoring program effectiveness, and providing training and technical assistance. The role involves analyzing data to recommend improvements, overseeing program compliance through regular visits and corrective actions, and promoting the program to stakeholders and the community. How does it get done?The Lead Infant/Toddler Program Monitor position will regularly review and assess approved child care programs to ensure adherence to the standards, requirements and quality benchmarks related to the Infant/Toddler Contracted Slots Program. This will be done through overseeing and monitoring provider compliance with the terms and conditions outlined in their approved agreement, standards and requirements. Ensure on-site visits are conducted at approved programs offering Infant/Toddler Contracted Slots at a minimum twice/year. The Lead Infant/Toddler Program Monitor will coordinate with ECECD's PreK and regulatory programs to provide training and technical assistance to programs and keep accurate and detailed records of observations, evaluations, feedback, and compliance issues to support ongoing quality assurance efforts and program reporting. The Lead Infant/Toddler Program Monitor will also assist in the development and updates of Infant/Toddler Quality Standards and Monitoring Criteria, to ensure provider compliance to the Standards and Requirements. Ensure ongoing program alignment with New Mexico Child Care Assistance Regulations, New Mexico Tiered Quality Rating & Improvement System (FOCUS-TQRIS), New Mexico Child Care Licensing Regulations, New Mexico PreK Program, and National best-practices. This position will complete other complex projects as assigned. Who are the customers?New Mexico children, families, providers and internal staff/management Ideal CandidateThe Ideal Candidate will have the following skills and are not limited to project management, regulation interpretation, data analysis, observation/investigating, supervising/coaching, organization and writing. Minimum QualificationBachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling seven (7) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working ConditionsWork is usually performed in an office setting, with extensive exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, tablet, printer, calculator, cellphone, copy machine, scanner, keyboard, and telephone usage.
