Lead Laundry Attendant - The Chickasaw Nation : Job Details

We are currently looking for a Full Time Lead Laundry Attendant located at the Chickasaw Laundry Service working.Summary:Train all newly hired employees, assist management and operate Garment Inventory Management System, conveyor operations and perform daily physical labor necessary to run the laundry department.Responsibilities:* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines and meets needs- Seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Shares responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Observes and addresses potential environmental hazards and risks- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards- May provide break coverage for others as assigned- May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit* Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Sweeps, mops, dusts, vacuums and performs basic cleaning and janitorial procedures* Commercial laundry operations- Manually operates the following equipment: EVue, washing/drying machine, ironing/pressing equipment and conveyor equipment- Carries uniforms, hotel laundry and other supplies to and from the uniform distribution vehicles- Cleans garments daily to ensure stains are pretreated prior to dry cleaning- Prepares laundry for delivery to facilities by pressing, steaming, and inspecting ensuring department quality standards are being maintained* Verifies quantities being shipped to and received from the facility by counting each garment* Sorts laundry by tag numbers to ensure orderly storage and processing of items* Assists with orientation, special activities and training on specific procedures, tasks or equipment* Mentors, coaches, develops and assists in training in assigned area- Trains staff as needed- Creates training manuals for assigned area staff and continuously updates with improved processes* All other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Follow instructions, both written and oral * Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Ability to work independently* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Read, understand and apply regulations and policies* Builds effective working relationships* Ability to train individuals or small groups on specific tasks or procedures and engage with different learning styles* Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and managementSkills:Experience:Nonessential:* 1 year directly related experience* No prior experience required.Education:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Working Conditions:Essential:* Commercial laundry* Noisy* Outside, all weather conditions* Temperature fluctuations* Pass pre-employment drug test* Hand-eye coord, reach and grasp* Frequently lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Sitting up to 50% of shift* Standing up to 100% of shift* Walk up to 100% of shift
