Job ID:R0289855 Full/Part-Time: Full-time Regular/Temporary: Regular Listed: 2023-09-22 Location: New York Position Overview Job Title Lead Manager Oracle Data Engineer Corporate Title Vice President Location New York, NY Overview You will be joining in the role of Lead Manager Oracle Data Engineer, responsible for managing the definition, implementation, development, maintenance, and support of all Oracle database engineering activities in Deutsche Bank's Behavioral Modeling and Analytics Platform Engineering Team. This dynamic team is part of the broader Group Strategic Analytics organization. The Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) /TMA Behavioral Modelling and Analytics Platform is one of Deutsche Bank's key strategic model development and execution platforms, currently comprised of three critical components: an R and Python code library that caters to both modeling and analytical requirements; Oracle databases across Development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ConUAT, and Production; and an R-Shiny / Python based User Interface (UI) oriented reporting layer. All development, testing and deployment processes across all model development and implementation work streams (R, R-Shiny, Oracle, Python) adhere to Deutsche Bank's standardized Agile/DevOps Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) governance requirements and other Information Technology (IT) policies. What You'll Do
  • Lead the architecture, development, deployment, maintenance, security, and production support activities of all of GSA/TMA's Oracle database functional and non-functional domains across our Development, UAT, ConUAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments
  • Provide deep subject matter expertise in Oracle database design (both physical and logical), data modelling and programming (both native and non-native) to design and implement effective and efficient functional solutions to all current and future modeling, deployment, and support requirements. Of specific importance would be the ability to create Python based applications for Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB) and the Cloud
  • Provide expertise in productionizing complex Oracle based software-based systems and platforms from Development to UAT to Production in a mixed-and control compliance intensive-operating systems, databases, and runtime environments
  • Oversee the initial day-to-day monitoring and Production Support Management of recently productionized platforms with handover to dedicated Enterprise Support Teams later in the lifecycle, and subsequent L3 support thereafter with the assistance of dedicated Database Administrator (DBA) staff
  • Liaise, collaborate, and coordinate with all required technology infrastructure teams (Oracle DBAs, System Administrators, SDLC Governance, Disaster Recovery / Operational Resilience, IT control owners) to properly design, implement, and execute activities to ensure an operational resilient Oracle infrastructure in permanent and proactive compliance with all of Deutsche Bank's IT controls
How You'll Lead
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the extended GSA/TMA platform engineering and modeling teams, including subject matters such as Modeling, Data Engineering and Infrastructure in Oracle, and general database design, implementation, and optimization
  • Lead engagement with stakeholders from all US and global technology teams, and other GSA/TMA platforms' leads
  • Proposing and implementing time effective plans to integrate closely with key Agile/DevOps and SDLC Governance frameworks, standards, and practices as applicable to the Oracle runtime estate
Skills You'll Need
  • Extensive experience in leading large dataset Oracle database programming and production environments, and implementation initiatives (measured in terabytes of storage)
  • Hands on deep expertise and high proficiency in Oracle native and non-native database programming environments, including SQL, PL/SQL (stored procedures, functions, materialized views, indexes, etc.) and Python (Pandas, coracle or Python-Oracle DB) is a critical requirement. Some experience with Java and/or C++ with Oracle is desirable
  • Expertise in helping define, implement, and operationalize new Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices (using JIRA, Bitbucket / Git, TeamCity) on top of legacy SDLC practices for data intensive pipelines and interdependent upstream / downstream data workflows, and integrating automated code review tooling and authoring
  • Experience in defining and establishing Production Support practices - operational procedures, incident management, information security (including data security), integrity of all dependent environments - required in minimizing or eliminating the risks of operating the environment in a Production, while meeting all functional and nonfunctional requirements, including regulatory compliance
  • Extensive experience in leading Oracle teams and effective team collaboration
Skills That Will Help You Excel
  • Very strong programming experience in the Python or R programming languages
  • Some actual experience with Java and/or C++ with Oracle
  • Knowledge of behavioral modeling analytics, CCAR stress testing / capital planning
  • Extensive experience with other major databases (Sybase, MS SQL), open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL database (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc)
Expectations It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model. The salary range for this position in New York City is $180,000 to $250,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
