Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Lead Material Handler to join their team. As a Lead Material Handler, you will be part of the Shipping and Receiving department supporting various teams. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: Lead Material HandlerLocation: Plymouth, MIPay Range: $20.00 per hourWhat's the Job? Communicate with the Team Lead to ensure all orders are ready for processing and delivery on time. Perform various functions related to the shipping, receiving, and storage of parts, materials, and products. Ensure that GB's (Global Business) materials are processed according to required drop-off schedules. Prepare and send all necessary shipping documents to the appropriate GB's. Identify and report discrepancies in shipping documents to the appropriate personnel for immediate action. Report damaged materials and discrepancies for incoming shipments to the relevant GB's. Ensure customer shipments are loaded efficiently and within designated time windows. Participate in special tasks, such as 6S activities, to support continuous improvement and workplace organization. Maintain responsibility for one's own work with attention to accuracy and efficiency. Exhibit a constant safety mindset, following all safety protocols to prevent injury to oneself and others.What's Needed? High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in material handling is a plus. Experience in material handling, shipping, and receiving operations within a manufacturing or tech environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and damage in materials. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with different departments and ensure smooth processes. Familiarity with shipping documents and procedures. Ability to lift and move materials as needed. Knowledge of safety regulations and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.What's in it for me? Full-time position with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. Monday through Friday schedule with a start time of 7:30 AM and end time of 4:00 PM. Weekly pay.
