Salary: $21 - $22/hour - Depending on Experience

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, starting at 6 am until 2:30 pm (Days Off: Friday & Saturday)

About the job

Elephants offers great local foods from scratch every day, and much of that food is prepared (cooked, baked, and packaged) at our SE Portland Central Kitchen. To accomplish this goal, we rely on an exceptional group of food professionals to produce high-quality food products 24/7. We are a speedy team that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our stores and customers.

We need an experienced leader for our talented, close-knit bakery department. You should be a quick thinker and a fast mover! You should also be a problem solver who asks a lot of good questions and a leader who can bring out the best in their team members. Our production bakery is a great place to share your skills and expertise with a team of friendly folks who enjoy what they do.

Your primary responsibility is to keep the bakery running smoothly and support the bakery team in creating consistent quality baked goods. The Pastry Lead also helps keep all equipment in the bakery clean and orderly, restock/organize workspaces, maintain all bakery materials, and maintain in-depth knowledge of bakery production and procedures. They also help cross-train when needed and maintain all company safety, dress, and personnel policies while fostering a positive environment of teamwork and mutual respect.
