The most impactful digital products in the market today are the direct result of a seamless blend of business strategy, design, and technology. Orchestrating this behind-the-scenes integration is a Product Manager, who prioritizes the customer experience from vision to execution and, together with their team, guides all workstreams toward a common vision and plan for delivery. Lead Product Managers are trusted advisors to senior stakeholders and are responsible for understanding their needs, driving commercial results, and supporting them on their journey to providing more successful customer experiences.Strong pharmaceutical R&D experience in the oncology space and early drug discovery (ADC) is required to work on projects aimed at developing data-driven AI-based platforms. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in analyzing R&D processes and data systems and will work with subject matter experts to capture requirements that align with the green field AI solutions and data product needs.This position will be onsite in the cities of San Diego, Seattle, or Los Angeles.Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze and assess existing and planned R&D processes, systems, and workflows within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Work closely with researchers, leads, SMEs, data modelers, and project teams to capture and document detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Following Agile principles, collaborate in the development of data-driven AI-based platform models to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Identify process improvements and recommend solutions for better data management, integration, and use within R&D.
  • Communicate business requirements clearly to the platform, data modeling, and technical teams for effective GxP testing and solution implementation.
  • Ensure the project requirements are met within specified timelines while maintaining high quality.Job QualificationsTechnical Skills
    • MS/PhD in biology or related human health area.
    • Prior top 10 consulting industry experience in a similar role.
    • Considerable experience as a Business Analyst within pharmaceutical R&D, preferably in Oncology.
    • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D processes, data, systems, and regulations.
    • Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies, UAT testing, and validation.
    • Experience working on green field solutions or projects that require innovative data management approaches and use of AI.
    • Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements effectively.
    • Prior experience collaborating with data modeling teams.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying and addressing business challenges.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Strong skills in MS Office tools and slide creation.Professional Skills
      • Pharmaceutical Expertise: Deep understanding of R&D processes, particularly in oncology and ADCs.
      • Data and AI Knowledge: Experience in working with AI-based platforms and data modeling teams to implement data-driven solutions.
      • Business Acumen: Strong analytical skills to assess current workflows and recommend improvements in data management and system integration.
      • Consulting Experience: Proven background in working with top-tier consulting firms, blending strategic thinking with practical implementation in life sciences.Domain Knowledge
        • Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, including clinical and preclinical data workflows.
        • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, FDA, EMA guidelines) impacting AI and data platforms in oncology research.Collaboration Skills
          • Proficient in working cross-functionally with researchers, SMEs, data modelers, and project teams.
          • Expertise in capturing and documenting technical and business requirements to guide platform development.Technical Skills
            • Strong grasp of agile software development and UAT processes.
            • Familiarity with tools for process mapping, data visualization, and technical documentation (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Visio).Communication
              • Excellent verbal and written skills to articulate complex ideas to scientific and technical teams.
