Job Description :

The Lead Quality Technician must have the ability to work with various teams at GFNY including Engineering, Production, and Suppliers across a wide variety of issues/ corrective actions identified during production process. First point of contact for Quality issues on designated Gigafactory New York manufacturing line and support coordination of activities with the opportunity to meaningfully improve the experience of Tesla's products by improving production quality and reducing field issues.

* Train, coordinate, and delegate activities of the Quality Technicians as well as leading group discussions online, providing support and guidance to line Quality Technicians while giving visibility to Process, Production, and Manufacturing Engineers

* Leads line to line root cause issues/solutions to increase and maintain quality metrics and performances while work closely with manufacturing and process teams, and suppliers to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality

* Ensure Quality Technicians are maintaining, updating, and validating product and quality plans and control plans while also working with Quality Supervisor and Engineers to review audit results to drive corrective action with cross-functional teams

* Revise Quality Key Points (QKP) documents, Quality Instructions, implement, revise, and analyze data collection spreadsheets, and maintain Quality Technician Standard Work documents at the direction of the Quality Engineer

* Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements as well as analyze and interpret high failure product data independently, effectively escalating/root causing fall-out alongside line Quality Technicians

* Direct potential problem preventative action on quality defects based on increased data metric fall-out rates and failed lineside products

* Experience with quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment & experience in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred

* Strong aptitude with electronic test and measurement systems

* Proficiency at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams

* Ability to lift to 50 lbs as needed (part sorting, material moving, etc.)

* Ability to effectively communicate common issues and defects to leadership and management assisting with solutions

* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc. highly desired

* Command the english language both written and verbal
