Lead Scheduler

Scott Humphrey has partnered with a client looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Scheduler. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction or engineering, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. This role requires expertise in developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Integrate project schedules with resource planning and budget forecasts.
  • Track progress against the baseline schedule, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to update schedules and reflect changes in scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on schedules and project milestones.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to strategy development.
  • Perform critical path and risk analysis to anticipate potential delays and develop contingency plans.
  • Monitor the impact of project risks on schedules and provide solutions to mitigate delays.
  • Prepare and present detailed schedule reports, dashboards, and progress summaries to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of schedule updates and historical data for future reference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of scheduling experience in civil construction or engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and sequencing.
  • Knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling techniques.
  • Ability to perform detailed risk assessments and resource optimization.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent scheduling certifications.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AACEI).
