Job Description :
In this role, you will be a lead sourcing specialist for the construction division of a private space exploration company. These opportunities are extremely rare. Interest will be high so move quickly if you are interested in this role. You will manage a team of purchasing professionals to drive all deliverables and expectations for the construction department of the company.Company list of responsibilities:- Identify and implement process, system, or training improvement projects- Provide weekly team status reporting and supplier performance trends, and escalate to management when necessary- Manage strategy for the construction category- Collaborate with internal customers on forecasts and requirements to execute company goals and use internal feedback to improve supplier performance and relationships- Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis to formulate a sourcing plan that includes strategic direction, roadmaps, price trends, market and industry position, and risk assessment- Develop should-cost models for competitive cost analysis- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to achieve technology, cost, quality, and delivery targets on company products- Administer moderate to large contracts and independently negotiate contract terminology, pricing, technical requirements, scope, and terms, including responsibility, liability, indemnification, intellectual property and export compliance- Prepare, issue, and analyze RFQ packages for one-time and ongoing project requirements- Train and mentor the construction purchasing team on specifications, technical category expertise, internal workflows, and supplier managementSourcing Specialist:Responsibilities:- Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department including, but not limited to, payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings- Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements to maintain continuous cost reduction programs for controllable expenditures- Identify and execute cost reduction projects including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, estimating completion, and project updates- Perform advanced quantitative and business processes analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement, and performance for assigned categories- Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure the appropriate criteria, such as the delivery of business results, cost reduction, quality, and timeliness of delivery- Conduct research, perform benchmarking and gather market analysis for assigned categories- Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department- Manage contracts to ensure the performance of the supplier to contract obligations, and established preferred suppliers for assigned categories- Understand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret the application of contracts to business needs- Negotiate to maximize value and cost savings benefits while lowering the risk- Create and implement management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply base- Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned categoriesBase salary plus bonuses and perks.
