Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking recent college graduates for a full-time entry level Leadership Development Professional (LDP) opportunity to join our Oriented Strand Board Milll (OSB) located in Grayling, Michigan. In this role, you will work under close guidance with assigned mentors. You will be accountable for growing and strengthening your leadership skills, general business understanding of manufacturing processes, operations of a Wood Products mill, and other major function areas. This role includes a detailed 12-month development plan with hands-on learning, operational rotations, and successful completion of site project(s). Key Activities:
  • Working safely in a manufacturing environment
  • Monitor product quality
  • Assist in process optimization to maximize production rates, product quality and yield
  • Systematically identify and implement improvement initiatives
  • Provide data analysis and technical support for manufacturing and quality functions
  • Perform mill-wide studies/trials
  • Provide support in the development of standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality and production issues
  • Train employees on a structured approach to problem solving
  • Maintain calibration of process equipment to assure standards are met
Qualifications Requirements: Education: You have a BS Wood Science or other related engineering field or business degree Drive: We are looking for someone who is eager to learn about and master wood products production processes regardless of years of experience. Core Skills:
  • Ability to deliver workable, value added solutions to solve real manufacturing problems;
  • You're able to communicate issues and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You are a collaborative team player.
  • You have a high level of initiative and the ability to excel with minimum supervision.
  • You can easily adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change.
Technical Skills: You have a working knowledge of quality control, statistics, and optimization concepts. Travel: You are able and willing to travel within the US. Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $56,500to $84,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
