BRIEF DESCRIPTIONAs the BluSky Restoration L&D Specialist, you will be an integral part of the team supporting our national workforce to expand their skills and knowledge. The L&D Specialist supports and coordinates with the broader L&D team, and BluSky overall, to support technical training and develop and manage learning content/activities. The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of functional training and adult education best practices, a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to complete projects with minimal oversight. You should be highly proficient in time and project management and have excellent communication skills.Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESLMS administration:
- Administrates BluSky's Learning Management System, including data entry, course scheduling, reporting, and general maintenance of content
Training Coordination:
- Assists with the management and delivery of new employee onboarding programs
- Communicates with course attendees and tracks attendance
- Creates and tracks surveys for all internal and external classes to measure effectiveness of training sessions
Instructional Design:
- Designs and maintains training content including e-learning courses, templates, handouts, training aids and videos, presentations and other supporting content as needed by using programs such as PowerPoint, Canva, Articulate, Scribe, and screen capture software
Event support:
- Supports virtual and on-site training events as requested to include setup/breakdown, classroom management, and catering orders
Administrative/General Duties:
- Tracks, reports, and maintains proof of professional development training status for BluSky employees
- Performs curriculum review, testing, and regular content updates in association with various updates to keep content timely
- Communicates projected timelines to stakeholders
- Incorporates appropriate policies and procedures along with approved workflows into training material
- Performs gap analyses of projects and training activities and makes recommendations for improvement
- Remains abreast of new educational techniques and technology and incorporates into current training
- Supports the broader L&D and People Services teams as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This role has no direct reportsQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- A valid driver's license is required for this position
- 3+ years of experience in a corporate training environment, preferably in construction, restoration, or similar industry is required
- Experience with learning management systems required (Absorb LMS preferred)
- Experience with virtual classroom/meeting tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams platforms required
- Experience with content creation tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Absorb Create, or similar programs required
- Candidates who are bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred
- Candidate must be experienced in Microsoft Office products, (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams)
- Candidate must live within a reasonable driving distance of an existing BluSky location.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- The ability to work cross-functionally with various departments and groups across the United States.
- The ability to work independently with minimal oversight, completing tasks and projects effectively and on-time.
- Strong time, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of adult training procedures, methodologies, and best practices as they relate to a technical environment that includes office workers and field employees.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development or related field preferred
- Instructor and/or adult education certifications preferred (ATD, SHRM, Josh Bersin, etc.)
TRAVEL:
- This role is generally expected to be a remote/hybrid role. However, the ability to travel to locations across the United States to support training events is required, as needed.
- Less than 20% travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected for meetings and events.
