TITLE: Learning Coordinator SALARY: $29.27- 33.44 per hour is the pay range for this job classification. Every temporary employee under the Joint Crafts Council wage scale is placed at the first step of the job classification's pay range, which is $29.27 per hour. Temporary staff are not eligible to earn more than the Step 1 payrate, which may be adjusted annually per the contract. This role is expected to work 20 hours per week.   • Have a Mind for Logistics: You are able to perform logistical support duties, including booking and organizing rooms and resources, registering participants, processing payments, schedule activities, and maintaining records and databases.
  • Are Technologically Inclined: You enjoy creating online program registration portals and overseeing registration processes, including website navigation, payment processing, system maintenance, and creating rosters and reports.
  • Are an Enthusiastic Storyteller: You are excited to present an array of engaging programming to audiences of all ages, both virtually and in-person, on and off zoo grounds, independently or in collaboration with zoo staff or volunteers.
  • Enjoy Data and Analysis: Assisting in the evaluation of the impact of programs, curricula, activities, and projects is a task that excites you. You are ready to collect, organize, and analyze data, prepare reports as needed, and are happy to collaborate with evaluation team members to develop and implement evaluation plans and apply evaluation findings to improve program outcomes.
YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead project teams or content areas as directed.
  • Assist as directed in evaluating the impact of programs, curricula, activities, and projects.
  • Research, organize, and analyze data, preparing reports, articles, blog posts, and other narratives as needed.
  • Perform logistical support duties to include booking and organizing rooms, resources, and registration of participants, schedule activities, and maintain records and databases.
  • Provide feedback on curriculum, program, and activities; identify and recommend policy and process improvements to department leadership.
  • Develop agendas and facilitate inclusive participation in meetings, building consensus, resolving conflicts, and capturing notes as appropriate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
  • Washington State Driver's License
  • Experience working in an informational education organization, such as: zoo, aquarium, museum, camp, or park
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two (2) or more years of experience in developing, coordinating, delivering, or evaluating engaging, inclusive experiences, trainings, or programs for a variety of audiences; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience and/or training.
  • Ability to listen patiently and attentively, ability to express self clearly and effectively, and ability to adapt communication based on audience and purpose with inclusivity.
  • Ability to develop programs and experiences that center on diversity, equity, access, and inclusion.
  • Ability to effectively present information to zoo management, public groups, donors, volunteers, and zoo board members.
  • Proficient and experienced in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Ability to conduct internet research and work with customized databases and technology.
  • Successful applicants must live and work in Washington State to perform this role.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
