The Lecturer teaching load at Barnard is 6 courses per year; and teaching expectations include Developmental Psychology laboratory, Cognitive Psychology laboratory, and a seminar of the candidate's choosing. The Lecturer position is full-time, with opportunities for review and renewal at the 3rd year and promotion at the 7th year of service (to Senior Lecturer).Responsibilities also include maintaining a scholarly profile (either via use of thesis students to conduct research, collaboration with colleagues, or by writing articles or books independently), advising undergraduates in the Psychology major, and performing departmental and college-level service as appropriate for the candidate's rank. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology at time of appointment, proven capacity for teaching excellence in Developmental Psychology, experience advising and mentoring at the college level, and the ability and desire to perform service within the department and college. We are especially interested in candidates who are able to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds. Review of applications will begin on November 1.
