LHH is currently partnering with a well known law firm in the Washington, DC area looking to bring on a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to provide support their legal team. This is long term temporary position with the potential for direct hire based on performance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic legal environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of administrative experience within a legal setting and a strong ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and legal staff, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports as required.
  • Maintain filing systems (both physical and electronic) and ensure proper organization of case files, contracts, and other legal documentation.
  • Prepare and file documents with courts, government agencies, and other relevant entities, ensuring compliance with deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Assist with billing, timekeeping, and maintaining financial records for legal projects.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders on behalf of the legal team, managing inquiries and requests in a professional manner.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Coordinate internal meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team's objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant within a law firm, corporate legal department, or other legal setting.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal management software (experience with case management or billing systems is a plus).
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
