Job Type Full-time Description Seattle civil defense litigation firm is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant. This position will work closely with a handful of attorneys in our Seattle office handling court filings, reviewing motions and orders, general correspondence, and any other duties necessary to support the attorneys' needs. The candidate must be exceedingly well organized and flexible. The legal assistant will perform a broad range of case related duties under supervision as outlined below. Primary Responsibilities:
Drafting notices and preparing state and federal court filings (Pierce, King County) Proofreading motions and sending courtesy copies to court Electronic filing and uploading of documents Adhering to tight deadlines provided by court and attorneys Drafting and editing correspondence Copying/Scanning/Faxing Scheduling depositions and coordinating with court reporters and experts Corresponding with opposing counsel and court clerks. Interacting and following up with attorneys to ensure completion of filings and projects. Document conversions The above list of duties and responsibilities is in no way a comprehensive list. Compensation: $60,000-$95,000 (DOE) Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Subject to certain eligibility requirements, bonus and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental and vision insurance benefits, retirement plan and paid time off. - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in legal role
- Previous legal administrative assistant experience (10+ years)
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures (Washington)
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience using legal search databases (PACER, LexisNexis, Pohlman, Westlaw) etc.
- Experience using E-discovery software (Relativity, Nextpoint) and Legal Billing software
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidential records and use discretion
- The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have superior communication, organizational, computer and client service skills, and be able to multi-task. The candidate must also possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and the desire to take initiative.
