Summary

Arnold & Smith Law, PLLC is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Legal Assistant/Paralegal. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the law firm, including carrying out administrative services, providing support to the legal team and

ensuring that the firm remains in compliance with state legal regulations. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate with clients, counsel, and court representatives
  • Manage legal documentation and correspondence
  • Coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and recordkeeping when

necessaryComplete administrative duties such as greeting clients, making copies, recordkeeping, and answering and directing phone calls

Investigate case facts to ensure the consideration of all relevant information

  • Identify appropriate materials, legal articles, judicial decisions, and laws for assigned cases
  • Organize, analyze, and compile information
  • Collect and record exhibits, develop written statements
  • Work with attorneys in order to draft documents and letters with existing legal templates
  • Prepare motions and pleadings for filing in court
  • Track and organize files from case documents to facilitate access and availability to attorneys

Qualification and Skills:

  • Two-year degree or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience in consumer law and knowledge of commercial transactions preferred
  • 1-3 years' working experience as a legal assistant preferred
