Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and communication skills and have a passion for the legal field. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic legal practice. Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Manage case files and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Assist with legal research, including case law and statute searches.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Handle client communications, including phone calls, emails, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain and organize case calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filing of legal documents.
  • Prepare discovery responses and assist in the preparation of trial exhibits.
  • Support attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • File legal documents with courts and government agencies.
  • Perform general office tasks including managing phone calls, filing, and data entry.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Assistant Studies, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, or equivalent legal experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documents.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software (Clio, LexisNexis, etc.).
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
