Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. This position will provide essential support to attorneys, handling a wide range of legal tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities: - Legal Research: Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources.
- Document Preparation: Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
- Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, including electronic and paper documents.
- E-Discovery: Assist with e-discovery processes, including document review, production, and preservation.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Calendar Management: Schedule appointments, meetings, and deadlines.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.
- Trial Preparation: Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization.
Qualifications: - Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Proficiency in legal software, such as Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
