Job Summary: Join our team as a Legal Compliance Specialist and play a critical role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This position involves developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting assessments, and providing guidance to ensure ethical and legal conduct across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the organization's operations.
- Conduct research to understand and interpret legal requirements.
- Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure comprehensive compliance coverage.
- Conduct training sessions to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Plan and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports on compliance activities, issues, and resolutions.
- Investigate and respond to reports of potential compliance violations.
- Review contracts and agreements for legal and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the organization's ethics program and promote a culture of integrity.
- Work closely with legal counsel, regulatory affairs, and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience within a corporate compliance department, banking, audit, accounting firm, or regulatory agency.
- Working knowledge of compliance programs, solutions, processes, controls, and procedures.
- Experience with compliance-related web-based solutions, SaaS, and other technology tools.
- Advanced data reporting skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and databases.
- Familiarity with compliance solutions such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Aravo, Concur, and World Compliance.
- Experience in a multinational corporate compliance program is a plus.
- Understanding of FCPA and UK Bribery Act is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
- English language fluency required.
- Ability to pass a 7-year background check.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with KYC (Know Your Customer) processes.
- Familiarity with vendor management tools.
- Ability to conduct open-source research.
- Risk assessment or risk management experience.
- Previous experience with compliance in a large organization.
