Position OverviewThe Legal Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all legal operations at Solano Law Firm. You will lead a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered legal services. The Legal Director will set the strategic direction for the legal team, ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations, and promote the firm's mission of empowering immigrant families.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Strategy and Oversight: Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the firm's mission and objectives. Oversee the preparation and filing of complex immigration cases.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and supervise attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants. Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all legal work meets regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and the firm's quality benchmarks.
- Case Management: Oversee casework for efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness, maintaining a caseload as needed.
- Client Advocacy: Represent the firm in high-profile or complex cases as required. Serve as the lead legal representative in community outreach or advocacy efforts.
- Training and Development: Design and implement ongoing training programs to enhance the team's skills and knowledge of immigration law.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in workflows and case management systems to enhance efficiency and client service.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team, including the Director of Sales and operations leadership, to achieve the firm's strategic goals.
- Policy and Legislative Monitoring: Stay updated on changes to immigration law and policy, ensuring the firm adapts proactively to any updates or challenges.

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
- 8+ years of experience in immigration law, with a strong background in family-based immigration and removal defense.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams of attorneys and legal professionals.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency in Spanish or another relevant language is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving immigrant communities and advancing the firm's mission.
