Position Summary
Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's policies and procedures. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Prepare legal papers and forms relating to various legal matters relating to intellectual property. Assemble final papers for filing in court, and set up new files; handle details of executing affidavits of service/stipulations and follow-up procedures for adjournments and extensions of time. Customize and/or compose letters in response to requests for information. Maintain attorneys' calendars planning and scheduling meetings and travel to meetings and conferences. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets.
Qualifications
Required Education:High School diploma or equivalent.Required Experience:3 years of office experience in a legal environment.Preferred Experience:2 years of office experience in a legal environment (with Associate's degree). 1 year of office experience in a legal environment (with Bachelor's degree).Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Knowledge of citation searches and legal terminology. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate salary range for this position is USD $37.240 to USD $47.240. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
