Library Assistants are the first point of contact most patrons have with the University Libraries system and take care of most of the day-to-day duties associated with library operations.Under direct supervision, Library Assistants work with University Libraries staff and students in a team environment to:•Assist student, faculty and community patrons with discovering and using t library materials.•Help student patrons learn about and use library resources including course reserves, study rooms, computers and printing.•Open and/or close University Libraries facilities and ensure the libraries remain a safe and comfortable destination for UNM students and faculty.•Shelve library materials and ensure that collections are well-organized and accessible•Participate in special projects as assignedSuccessful applicants will have the opportunity for progressively independent work and increased responsibility. All UL&LS student employees are employed on a term basis for the current/impending school year.
