QUALIFICATIONS: TEA certification requirements Ability to type 45 words per minute (60 or more words per minute is preferred) Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Power-point, Publisher, Word, etc.) Knowledge (experience preferred) of district on-line programs such as; library circulation and inventory software programs; budget programs; Web Page and Web Travel Knowledge of the use of a document camera, projector, laminating machine The ability to handle delegated administrative details The ability to meet the public in a pleasant, composed, and cordial manner, and to speak clearly and effectively The ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with all district employees as well as the general public Must be a high school graduate or have a GED MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Provides assistance and support to librarian with library circulation program to check book and patron status, receive payments, issue receipts, review book marc records to ensure campus records are correct. * Maintains records by organizing and filing forms such as; packing slips, fixed assets and payments. * Generates reports and shares information with librarian and at the request of district Library Services or other district personnel. * Assists with end of year library procedures such as; shelving, scanning, weeding of library inventory. * Maintains good relations with individuals and vendors with any ties to library. * Receives visitors, ascertains the purpose of the visit, attends to visitors' business or refers him/her to the proper person or office. * Obtains purchasing information (quotes) for library materials, processing, and follows up on purchase orders to maintain the operations & functionality of the library. * Schedules and coordinates library facility for meetings and assists librarian with presentations to provide information when needed. * Keeps informed on local and state laws, rules and regulations, explains applicable regulations and policies to appropriate persons. * Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. * Performs other related duties as assigned.
