Job OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health and be passionate about helping individuals struggling with addiction. This role involves providing support, guidance, and counseling to clients, facilitating group therapy sessions, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. The Addiction Counselor will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery
- Assess client needs through interviews and data collection
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Provide education on addiction, recovery processes, and coping strategies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within a hospital or clinical setting
- Utilize medical terminology and ICD-9 coding as necessary for documentation
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling
Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is required
- Previous experience in behavioral health or addiction counseling is highly desirable
- Familiarity with group therapy techniques and mental health counseling practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Requires one of the certifications listed: LAC, CADAC II, CADAC III, ICAC I, ICAC II, NCAC I, NCAC II, LSW with MATS
