Licensed Master Social Worker
Compensation: $70K-$78K per year
Job Type: Full Time. Monday - Friday. Day shift.
Our client, a school dedicated to supporting children with disabilities, is seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker for their Bronx, NY location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct Parent Interview/Social History as part of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation team to assess students' eligibility for CPSE services.
- Prepare evaluation packets for submission to the CPSE.
- Agency representation and advocacy for children at CPSE/IEP review meetings.
- Attend weekly classroom team meetings.
- Refer and coordinate services with community agencies on behalf of students and their families.
- Participate in the students' transition planning from preschool to Kindergarten with family members, multidisciplinary team and CSE professionals.
- Attend CSE meetings as needed.
- Provide counseling services (as needed).
- Provide classroom support to teachers and TAs in the event that staff absence leads to a need for appropriate supervision of students.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Promote consistent student attendance and enhance ongoing communication between school personnel and parents.
- Monitor classroom attendance/first attend dates throughout the school year.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate documentation of student absences, discharges, transfers and withdrawal of assigned classrooms.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, family and the community.
- Report child abuse and neglect as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work
- Must possess a New York State social work license - LMSW (Licensed Masters in Social Work)
