Overview:NaphCare is currently hiring Licensed Mental Health Clinicians to join our Jail Based Competency Treatment Program in Ukiah, CA, within the Mendocino County Detention Facility.The Jail-Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) program, a California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) satellite program, operates as a specialized mental health treatment program for 2 to 4 adult patients at the Mendocino County Jail. Our patients receive psychiatric and mental health services aimed at restoring their competency to stand trial so that they may proceed with pending criminal charges in the court system and move forward in their lives in a healthier place.The Clinician will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, evaluate treatment goals, and provide individual and group therapy using psychoeducation, evidenced-based therapies, coping and social skills building, and support to improve patients' symptoms of mental illness and/or disability, functioning, and overall well-being. Once hired, we encourage our employees to continue to seek opportunities for advancement and leadership.Responsibilities:Responsibilities for Licensed Mental Health Clinician:Serve as a contributing member of the multidisciplinary treatment teamConduct and document initial (or updates to existing) psychosocial assessmentsPerform and document treatment plans, team review notes, and discharge summariesConduct 1:1 psychoeducation regarding court/competency related topics weeklyConduct 1:1 clinical interventions for insight/skill-building and symptom management weeklyConducts brief daily check-ins with JBCT patientsEmploy motivational interviewing and other interventions to build insight/garner complianceFacilitates JBCT patients' participation in medication management and evaluation sessionsAs warranted, provide group therapeutic and psychoeducational servicesConduct crisis intervention and suicide/safety risk assessments as warrantedCoordinate with health and correctional staff regarding patients' mental health careParticipate in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patients, security personnel, and healthcare staffDemonstrate knowledge of DSM-V-TR criteria and mental health practice standardsQualifications:Qualifications for Licensed Mental Health Clinician:Masters prepared candidate with active, unrestricted licensure as a clinician (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC, etc.) in the state of CaliforniaKnowledge of the DSM-V-TR criteria and conditionsKnowledge of evidenced-based and/or empirically informed treatments for serious mental illness and major mental disorders (e.g., neurodevelopmental disorders)At least 1 year of experience, including working adults living with serious mental illness and/or in a correctional or adult inpatient mental health environment preferred but not requiredValid CPR cardWe know you may have questions before applying.
