Introduction
Thomas B. Finan Center, a multi-purpose psychiatric facility operating 88 beds, is a primary inpatient component of the Maryland Department of Health serving the citizens of Maryland. Specialized evaluation and treatment services are available for adult and geriatric psychiatric patients.

Main Purpose of Job
The LPN II, under the direction of a physician or registered nurse, provides practical nursing care on an experienced level to an inpatient psychiatric population consisting of adult and geriatric populations. This position may be assigned to any shift or program to assist the agency in the provision of optimal patient/ resident care. This position utilizes principles from the Recovery Model and Trauma Informed Care when interacting and caring for patients/ residents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined bythe Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for PracticalNurses.Experience: One year of experience asa Licensed Practical Nurse.Note:Candidates may substituteU.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer inNursing classificationsor Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialtycodes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in thisclassification must possess a current license as a Practical Nurse from theMaryland Board of Nursing.2. Employees in this classificationmay be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicleoperator's license valid in the State of Maryland.3. Employees in this classificationmay be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification ofcardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
