Join our rapidly growing organization serving over 50,000 patients annually and unlock new frontiers in healing and hopeIn this role you will:Follow all New York Cancer and Blood Specialists policies and procedures.Update and maintain all electronic patient records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital formatManage Physician inbox and prioritize tasks assigned via ONCO EMRPerform office callbacks to patients, physicians, and other healthcare facilitiesAssist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as neededClean and prepare examination rooms before patient appointmentsRecord patient information such as vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history before each appointmentEscort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and document all information in the patient's chart and open wallboards for the patient to self-complete any outstanding documents neededRecord patient interview, history, and chief complaintProvide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special dietsPrepare patients for examinations, perform routine screening tests, and assist physicians with exams.Perform basic lab tests such as phlebotomy, collection of other lab specimens, and EKGsPrepare and administer Injections and document medication under a physician's order, follow the five (5) medication rights, and reduce the potential for medical error.We require:Current NYS LPN license required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Previous experience in a lead role or demonstrated potential to act in a lead capacity.Previous outpatient experience preferredMust demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.Proficiency in OncoEMR.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.Frequent exposure to chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Travel to any of the NYCBS locations.Hours: Monday-FridaySalary up to $42 per hour commensurate with experience and education.
