  • Interacts with all persons (including residents, family members/visitors, workforce members, volunteers, vendors, and others) based on the organization's ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence).
  • Administers nursing care to residents as assigned.
  • Assists RN in admission process, daily care, discharge process, and participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Administers medications, treatments, and performs nursing procedures in a safe, competent, and timely manner. Documents in the resident's medical record per policy and procedure.
  • Ensures care and services rendered are recorded in the medical record in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reports resident change in condition, pain, discomfort, concerns, and other responses to the Registered Nurse/supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Reinforces, supports, and provides health care instructions to residents and their families/healthcare representative.
  • Participates with other team members in planning, implementing, and evaluating
nursing care and other resident activities.
  • Observes, records, and reports resident's vital signs, symptoms, and general condition to the appropriate individuals(s) based on facility policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrates safety awareness and follows protocols for fire, disaster, adverse events (code management, elopement), infection control, and other safety practices.
  • Maintains competency and proficiency in nursing care standards. Attends all mandatory classes, and participate in the continuing education program and other appropriate learning experiences. Completes all assigned mandatory education/in-services in a timely manner.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and other committees as assigned.
  • Fosters an environment that is safe, caring, and promotes the well-being of residents, including abuse/neglect prevention, person-centered care planning and delivery, and serves as an advocate for resident's/family needs.
  • Reports any knowledge of abuse, neglect, mistreatment, misappropriation of resident property, and exploitation immediately based on policy and procedure.
  • Assists in the unit-based training of new/novice licensed practical nurses as assigned by the Registered Nurse/Nurse Educator.
  • Performs other nursing functions related to resident care and nursing service, as delegated by the Nursing Service Administration.
  • Adheres to the facility's dress code and code of conduct.
