We focus on creating spaces that both inspire a sense of belonging and connection + foster growth in the individual through dedication and joy.As a Lifeguard, you will have the responsibility of maintaining a safe aquatic environment for all patrons of Chelsea Piers Fitness. Responsibilities:
- Serve as a representative of Chelsea Piers, demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees and with our members
- Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of swimming pool patrons; watch activities in the water and on swimming pool decks for individuals who may need assistance or guidance
- Rescue persons in distress and render the latest approved First Aid and artificial respiration procedures if necessary
- Maintain a high level of communication with patrons, staff, supervisors
- Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations
- Assist in cleaning the pool, pool area, and hot tub as assigned
- Performance of duties in accordance with established safety regulations and policies
- Keep management well informed of pool maintenance needs including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairs
- Provide input and feedback while responding to problems
- Assist in pool operations and miscellaneous duties as assigned
QualificationsQualifications:
- Lifeguard certification
- 1+ year with lifeguard experience, preferred
- Professional Rescuer certification, preferred (completion of certification required within 1 month of hire)
- High school diploma/GED required. Associate Degree or higher, preferred
- Positive, can-do and joyful attitude with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
