*Please note this position has an anticipated start date of December 6, 2024 (Actual start date subject to change based on weather conditions).*Full time seasonal and Part time seasonal positions available.Position Title: Lift Operations Operator Department: Mountain OperationsReports To: Lift Operations ManagerStatus: Full-time or Part-time Seasonal, Hourly (Non-Exempt)Working Hours: Varied hours/shifts, fluctuates with time of season, weekends and holidays typicalWage: $17.50 per hour Benefits: Maryland Accrued Sick time/401k/Recreational PrivilegesPosition Summary: Handles overall operation of ski lift as assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Wisp Resort is a four-season ski, golf and recreational destination resort. Because of the nature of the resort business, employees may be asked to perform other duties outside of the job description. Also, hours of operation are 24/7 including weekends and holidays.Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Level 2 (Operator) - NE03 Exhibits ability to interact and converse intelligently with guests and other employees in a positive, helpful manner. Assists in care and appearance of all lift related equipment. Supports harmony and good will in the Mountain Operations Department and with all other staff and Resort departments. Participates in lift operation and safety specific training prior to starting work, focusing on job functions at both the loading and unloading stations of one or more lifts. Also participates in ski lift evacuation training exercise and actual ski lift evacuations, if necessary. Familiarity with all the facilities at Wisp Resort including locations and hours of operation and knowledge of rates. Assists in shoveling a significant amount of snow to continuously maintain the condition of lift mazes, loading/unloading platforms. Maintains a clean workplace and assists in picking up trash in parking areas, around buildings and on the slopes. As situations may require, gives verbal reminders/warnings to skiers who do not abide by the Rules of Conduct in the loading and unloading areas as well as on the lift. Exhibits ability to perform repetitive routine tasks while remaining alert at all times. Has worked as a lift operator in the past. Is familiar with overseeing the safe operation of all of the different lifts at Wisp Resort. Knows how to assist with the checking of tickets and passes to board the lifts. Has ability to assist maintenance when necessary by running lifts or giving support to crew.Qualifications:Successful execution of this job requires an individual to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Education and/or Experience:All Levels: High School diploma or equivalent, unless company sees ability without minimum education requirement Previous ski area experience helpful Must be at least 18 years of age Completes a two-day Lift Training CourseLanguage Skills: Basic English Strong communication and interpersonal skillsMathematical Skills: Basic mathCertificates, Licenses, Registrations: NonePhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
