SUMMARY The Lift operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading guests of all ages and abilities using our chairlifts. Operators will act as a professional resort representative creating the best environment for guests and employees. With service as our product, ensuring a safe and wonderful experience is a primary focus for all Lift Operators. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Duties and responsibilities
- Operate multiple Lifts, Gondolas, Tow and Carpets for the guests
- Follow company/department safety policies and procedures.
- Able to work independently or in a small group to accomplish daily job-related tasks.
- Complete pre-operational procedures, and inspections.
- Assist in snow removal, daily set up and routine maintenance of work areas.
- Anticipate guests' needs and provide service above and beyond guest expectations.
- Remain alert for guests improperly loading and unloading the ski lifts to ensure their safety
- Assist with completing lift closing procedures.
- Work with all mountain departments respectfully in assisting and resolving issues that could arise during the operations.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO THE JOB? Required Experience
- Availability to start in this position begins in November
- 18 years or older, high school diploma or equivalent
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Able to lift 25 pounds and on occasion up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights when needed.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
- The employee must frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, shovel, rake, or ice chip.
- Ability to withstand outside weather conditions, extreme cold and loud noise levels
WHAT WILL MAKE ME STAND OUT? Preferred experience
- Skiing/Snowboarding ability
- Experience with moving machinery
- Previous Ski Industry/ lift experience
- Previous completion of Snowbasin Lift Operations Department training
- Able to commit the entire winter season
