POSITION SUMMARY The Light Tech I will be responsible with performing mechanical repairs on automotive, gasoline-power off road equipment and shop facility duties. Might travel to various shops and locations across the Los Angeles County area. Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms automotive skill level I vehicle maintenance on a variety of gasoline-power equipmentPerforms vehicles Preventive Maintenance, replaces oil air filters, troubleshoots and repairs starting system, brakes system, and charging systemCheck and maintain automotive fluids levels such as gas, oil, antifreeze, water, and airPerform quick-fixed maintenance, patch-repair and replace tires, install / replace windshield wipers and light bulbsPerform troubleshooting and repairs for Electric Vehicles (EV) and hybrid modelsPerform fuel pump maintenance and repairs, check fuel levels and maintain up-to-date inventoriesAssist the Detail Technician with washing and polishing of customer's vehicles and remove decals when requiredPark, Jump-start, pick up and deliver County vehicles as needed to any vendor or County facilityMaintain daily vehicles accountability, parked location, lane, and vehicle statusPicking up and delivering vehicles to County, Centerra Integrated facilities, and any vendors as requiredRoad-testing vehicles on public streets and highways when required and to drive to any of the five shop locations.Clean, sweep, mop, take out trash in working bays, and common work areasEnsure the safe handling and storage of chemicals and cleaners used in performing of daily work dutiesAbide by established safety standards to meet local safety policies and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Report to various regional locations as required Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONSMust have a valid Class C Driver's License2- 4 years of automotive experience or vocational technical schoolMust complete County requirement Live ScanMust be able to maintain a safety-minded approach on all work performedProficiency with MS Office SuiteEffective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organizationStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completionProblem solving skills with an analytical thought processASE certified or be willing to obtain one (1) certification within three months of employmentAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and work in any of the five shop facilitiesMay be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may also be required. #MON
