Job Description:

As a Line Cook at our Italian American restaurant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our culinary offerings. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients for dishes according to recipes and portion sizes. Ensure that all food items are prepared in a timely manner to meet customer demand during service hours.

  • Cooking: Execute cooking tasks with precision and attention to detail, adhering to established recipes and cooking techniques. Monitor food temperatures to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

  • Assembly: Plate dishes attractively and accurately, following presentation guidelines set by the head chef or kitchen manager. Pay attention to portion sizes and garnishing details.

  • Station Maintenance: Keep your station clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout service hours. Adhere to sanitation and food safety regulations at all times to maintain a hygienic work environment.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff members to coordinate food preparation and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to manage orders efficiently.

  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process and before plating, identifying any issues or inconsistencies. Take proactive measures to address concerns and maintain high standards of food excellence.

  • Flexibility: Be willing to assist in other areas of the kitchen or take on additional tasks as needed to support the overall success of the restaurant.

  • Qualifications:

    • Some experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role.
    • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food to customers.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
