ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Inspects holding furnaces before transferring process, to ensure molten material is free of dross.
* Performs cleaning inspections in every area.
* Checks Tibor addition and registers reading.
* Checks rotor RPM & argon flow for degassing process, and registers reading.
* Takes product samples from the line to perform analysis and registers findings (molten aluminum, strip, slugs, boxes, pallets, emulsion, oils, shot media, alloys, Tibor, etc.)
* Analyzes samples to determine alloy additions.
* Takes aluminum sample from the casting launder, and performs reduced pressure test.
* Takes aluminum sample from casting launder, and allows solidification under ambient temp.
* Visually inspects aluminum strip being produced along casting line.
* Checks strip dimensions according to work order and tolerances (thickness & width).
* Inspects labeling on coils to ensure they are in line with WO info.
* Visually Inspects quality of punched slugs in blanking area.
* Takes samples of slugs from blanking area and checks thickness, weight and diameter.
* Registers readings in thickness and weight record form .
* Checks labeling of baskets to ensure it is in accordance to work order being produced.
* Checks baskets are stacked up correctly (same size and same WO#).
* Visually inspects slugs after annealing process.
* Takes samples from annealed baskets and checks thickness, and diameter. Registers readings in thickness and weight record form .
* Inspects slugs after shot blasting. Checks thickness, diameter, weight, surface finish, etc, and registers readings in thickness and weight record form .
* Inspects/checks pallets and boxes' information to ensure it is in accordance with work order.
* Inspects and make sure boxes are well taped and stacked, and pallets are well wrapped.
* Fills out Quality Daily Report with quality issues in every area.
* Registers rejections in material rejection report .
* Calibrates measuring equipment to ensure accuracy in readings.
* Understands and practices Quality compliance procedure in casting line .
* Labels product based on findings after inspection (hold, rejected, ok to use, attention, etc)
* Follows up on actions to take within action plans .
* Ensures removal of rejected, and on hold material from production line.
* Inspects on hold material and determines next steps.
* Inspects rework material in packing line.
* Maintains Quality alerts updated in production boards.
* Maintains quality workstations (documents, calibrated equipment, forms, etc.) clean and organized.
* Confers with lab technician to maintain product specifications up to date.
* Analyzes second samples when Alloy addition has been performed.
* Reports production, down time, inconsistencies, failures & safety topics using designated forms.
* Responsible for quality of material produced in your area.
* Responsible for maintaining the area clean and organized.
