DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities
- Performs fueling of aircraft according to ATA-103 specifications and Fort Wayne Aero Center fueling procedures.
- Greets pilots, crews, passengers and tenants in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Maintains a positive and professional manner and wears uniform with pride.
- Works cooperatively with customer service representatives to ensure all crew requests such as ice, coffee, catering and newspapers are fulfilled.
- Directs aircraft to proper parking area, provides lead-in/lead-out marshaling assistance.
- Tows aircraft to secure tie down area or hangars, pulling aircraft out of hangars for departure using appropriate tug and tow bars for specific aircraft.
- Checks and adds proper oil in accordance with the specifications of the aircraft as requested by the customer.
- Ensures service vehicles and ground equipment are in safe operating order and running properly.
- Escorts various private and company personnel unfamiliar with the airport grounds as requested.
- Tops off fuel tanks and maintains ground service equipment effectively to ensure proper working condition.
- Review new operational manuals for various aircraft as needed.
- Performs a variety of minor building maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
- Position is required to work varying shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and sales tax.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving unusual situations in a professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft engines and fuel types.
- Must have customer service knowledge and people skills.
- Must be able to operate: fire extinguisher, tow bars and tugs, various hand tools, radios, ground power units, fuel trucks and other vehicles.
RequirementsExperience and Education RequirementsHigh school or equivalent education required; related aviation or customer service experience preferred.Special Requirements
