Line Service Technician - PT SeasonalLocationAviationWork StatusPart TimeTHIS POSITION WILL BE OPEN UNTIL FILLED.SALARY: $21.82 - 21.82 Hourly USDJOB SUMMARY:Under general supervision, services arriving and departing aircraft and is expected to provide excellent customer service while performing these duties. Performs a variety of operations, maintenance and repair functions related to aircraft, airport equipment, and fueling.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Service aircraft, which includes but is not limited to:o Removing all trash, newspapers, etc. off the aircrafto Fueling aircrafto Lavatory servicingo Loading and unloading luggageo Towing vehicleo Providing water service (using the water service cart)o Windshield washingo Supplying amenities such as newspapers and catering. Safely tow aircraft to and from hangars, operate the hangar doors correctly, and ensure the aircraft has clearance before putting into a hangar. Communicate with Air Traffic Control tower using proper terminology and communication procedures. Towing aircraft back and forth Develop and maintain positive relationships with tenants and is familiar with the requirements of major tenants. Accept delivery of avgas, jet fuel, unleaded gas, and diesel fuel. Performs quality control checks of fuel per NATA and FBO guidelines. Inform supervisor with discrepancies regarding fuel deliveries and quality control checks. Unloads fuel transport trucks and records fuel distribution. Accepts and unloads deliveries of anti-icing chemicals. Refills fuel trucks with these chemicals. Perform vehicle minor maintenance on airport equipment. Wash airport equipment, trucks, loaner cars and other vehicles as directed. Performs regularly scheduled safety checks on ground equipment and fuel trucks. Inspects T-hangars for function and customer adherence to hangar rules and policies. Reports all discrepancies to the supervisor or manager on duty.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Marshal in and out aircraft on arrivals and departures. Greets all pilots and passengers. Assist passengers with luggage. Takes written fuel order from passenger or pilot and relays to appropriate employee. Services oil on aircraft as directed by the supervisor or aircraft pilot in command. Drive, service and fuel all types of aircraft and airport equipment, including refueling mobile refueling trucks. Answer telephones and Unicom during times when Concierge Representatives are not on duty. Perform custodial duties in the terminal and corporate hangars, including hangar floors. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of office and administrative practices and procedures. Knowledge of FAA Guidelines for airport radio advisory communications. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and hazards of aircraft operations. Knowledge of the safety requirements for airport operations. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing airport operations and storage of aircraft. Skill in using PC Software including current Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Skill in communicating professionally and tactfully with other city employees and the public by oral and written means. Skill with organization and attention to detail. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment utilizing knowledge of the organization's policies. Ability to work independently under general instructions. Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including but not limited to filing, pulling, seeing, sorting, squatting, standing, stooping, twisting body, typing, walking, and writing. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator, scanner, and copier. Ability to prioritize deadlines and tasks. Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly. Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish unit objectives. Ability to understand mathematical calculations involving fractions, percentages, and decimals. Ability to work within a set schedule. Ability to perform general maintenance, including minor electrical, mechanical, and building if needed. Ability to work independently without scheduled supervisory staff. Ability to make an effective and measured response to aircraft emergency situations by contacting the appropriate authorities and taking steps to maintain safe aircraft operations or temporarily suspend aircraft operations. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound. Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited to; carrying, dragging, pulling, pushing and writing. Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to lifting up to 75 pounds. Ability to operate a motorized vehicle. Ability to operate a variety of equipment including, but not limited to; radio, tractors, and mowers. Ability to express proper radio terminology. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, airport patrons and the general public. Ability to work 70% of the time in an outdoors environment subject to extremes of temperature, inclement weather and intermittent exposure to fumes and dust. Incumbent is subject to potential mechanical, electrical, explosive, toxic waste, and chemical hazards.Qualifying Education and Experience: Valid Texas Driver's License, Class C High school diploma or GED and one year of airport experience.Preferred Education and Experience: Customer service skills and NATA Safety First certificationsEmployment Screenings Required: Criminal background check Physical and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) Drug/alcohol screens Motor vehicle review (MVR)
