Widen The Net is the recruiting partner to Snap Inc and we are hiring for their contract positions globally.

Snap is looking for a Linux system engineer to join their growing Snap Lab/R&D teams to support the site with a focus on systems, sorting existing systems and migration.

You'll support the provisioning, maintenance, and improvement of systems and services leveraged across Snap:

-Sort through existing systems (Linux/RedHat/Ubuntu, EDA application, systems migration, network, backups, storage, etc.) at lab sites and connecting the dependencies and system integrations

-Systems migration: migrate from legacy systems to new infrastructure and migrate from on premise to GCP cloud platform

-Engineer and implement new solutions and provide documentations

-Participate in remediation efforts, performing system maintenance, and regular patching

-Develop highly scalable tools and contribute to system automation by leveraging configuration management across Linux

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a sysadmin/systems engineer with strong knowledge in Linux (ideally RedHat or Ubuntu) and even more ideally familiar with EDA applications or lab systems. They should be a doer not a coordinator.

-Previous experience in supporting users and vendors

-Experience in systems migration or knowledge in GCP or AWS cloud platform

-Strong communications skills

Initially 12 months full time W2 contract with the option to extend yearly. 5 days onsite in Vancouver, WA. 24/7 on call 2 weeks in every 14 weeks (compensation time off). Offer up to $120k per year ($57.69 per hour) depending on experience plus medical plan (50% contribution) and federal public holidays as PTO.
