Our client is hiring a key Linux resource to support the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). With their current initiative to improve and modify their existing infrastructure – this person will have the opportunity to serve as a Linux SME in ensuring the health of critical systems supporting their day-to-day operations, which in turn will empower the agency to efficiently deliver essential resources and services to underserved communities across the country.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of hands-on Linux systems engineering experience including Red Hat Linux
- 4+ years' experience with Ansible automation and configuration
- Extensive experience scripting with PowerShell
- Experience in a Windows systems environment
- Federal/Government agency project experience - must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance (investigative background check w/ fingerprinting)
- Excellent customer facing communication skills – ability to gather requirements, maintain responsiveness to client needs, work across technical team members, etc.
Preferred Skills:
- RHEL certifications
- Azure cloud experience
Responsibilities:
- Systems Engineering, Administration, Management, Remediation, Compliance, Performance Monitoring/Tuning
- 24x7x365 infrastructure operations support serving in on-call rotation, Hybrid Environment (Azure and on-prem)
- Working with Infrastructure/Hosting team for successful completion of all tasks within the Statement of Work for assigned area of responsibility within compute, server, backup operations
- Review monitoring tools to identify trends and proactive identification of potential customer impacting events
- Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve efficiency or reduce costs in future projects.
