Associate Attorney

We are a prominent full-service firm with a high-volume practice looking to increase its talented ranks of attorneys by adding an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience to its Litigation department.

Successful Candidate

The candidate will have experience in litigating plaintiff-side cases from beginning to end including drafting pleadings, research, motion practice, depositions, and making frequent court appearances (remotely or in person as the courts require reopening). in a variety of venues. The candidate must have a detailed understanding of the CPLR, and Supreme Court rules, strong oral communication skills, and be prepared to meet and interact with clients, court staff, adversaries, witnesses, etc.

What you will need to have:

* Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school

* Licensed to practice law in New York State

* 3-5 years of litigation experience in state courts with hands-on plaintiff-side litigation knowledge

* Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in an effective manner.

* Strong work ethic and organizational skills

* Proficiency with MS Word and Outlook

The following is not required, but a plus:

* Experience with ProLaw

* Experience with Centerbase a plus

* Knowledge of collection, guardianship, Medicaid, and/or estate law

* Familiarity with the FDCPA
