Soleiman APC, a technology-driven law firm, seeks a Litigation Paralegal with at least 5 years of experience to join its Public Entity Law and Tort Litigation defense practice groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of litigation, including written discovery, medical record/employment file reviews, deposition prep, trial preparation, expert witness management, and status reporting to clients. The position requires the ability to handle a significant caseload while maintaining a high-quality work product and working primarily in the firms San Diego office in a hybrid office/remote setting.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate should have a solid litigation background and be able to handle assignments from various attorneys, be a self-starter who can work on their own, and be detail-oriented
- Minimum 5+ years of civil litigation experience in:
- Organizing large caseloads, discovery, and trial preparation
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Clio and Microsoft Office Suite
- Great time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to act independently and with minimal supervision working in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters.
- Support litigation counsel in all stages of litigation
- Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, and assist counsel in drafting discovery responses
- Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters
- Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits
- Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Experience in professional malpractice, general liability, premises liability, employment or insurance coverage
